*Definitions
Long Term Support Services (LTSS) is any services and/or supports that people with disabilities, chronic health or pre-existing conditions need to live in their homes and communities throughout their lives. This includes a wide range of day-to-day tasks, services and supports on a regular basis.
Assistive Technology (AT) includes but is not limited to, communication software/devices, applicated sound, smart home devices (Nest, Google, Alexa) visual magnifiers, an app that assists you in managing your disability/health needs, car modifications, backup electricity support, mobility device accessories, daily living aids, sensory tools and/or any other device that you use on a regular basis to maintain your independence.
Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is any type of device that is used to assist in improving an individual’s quality of life. For example, hearing aids, prosthetic device, c-pap machine, catheters, adjustable beds and mattresses, seating and positioning, a wheelchair, scooter, cane, walker, oxygen machine, feeding tubes, insulin pumps and much more.
